On our way to Grandma and Grandpa's, we stopped by Mother's school to say hi. My unbiased opinion is that she's the smartest and prettiest teacher in the world.

After shovelling the Captain D's Seafood Feast down our throats, Grandma breaks out the "untouched" special porcelain doll to let Colby hold. (This picture doesn't do it justice, but here is my new Rod Stewart t-shirt.)

She is so excited to have her picture made with this doll that we move to the couch to take more pictures.

I opt to have my picture taken with the chocolate cake instead. (And here you can see the shirt a little bit more.)

Me too Auntie K! Take my picture with the cake!

Just as I begin to think my family is so normal, Grandma busts out this plant that dances and sings. It was like a steak to a dog. Colby doubled over with her now famous belly laugh and she just HAS to take a picture of this thing w/ the chocolate cake. Who knew a little dancing plant could make her so happy?! Grandma!

Grandpa makes these fabulous roasted peanuts. Colby can't get enough of them.

Goodbye Grandma and Grandpa. We'll be back soon...(great shot of the shirt!)

Okay. Here's where the day gets interesting. On our way back past Mother's school dad explains how he sometimes pulls over by her window and waves. I stare at him incredulously. YOU DO WHAT?! So he shows me. We pull to the left into the turning lane right next to her window. He goes on to explain how he waves until he gets one of the kids attention and then more kids start to look and eventually Mother looks over. Before my brain registers what's going on, I realize my right hand is waving back and forth at the little blond boy that my father has just pointed out as "the one" that sees us. Sure enough after a couple minutes of this, mother comes to the window. And that's my family.
